Unfortunately in addition to well known rules of performing some check before choosing a hosting company I have to warn everyone once again about its importance. I have found myself in a very unpleasant and horrible situation recently only because I got used to the fact that the majority of hosting companies have developed up to a high quality level. But I was proved wrong. I am not a trouble maker and will not turn this place into calling names. If you are still interested you can contact me for details. So with having burnt little nerves and lost some bucks I am underlying this simple but important tips when choosing webshoting:
1. First of all surf though the whole website. Pay special attention on what the company DOES NOT offer or what possible limitations are. Products&Prices ,FAQ, Disclaimer and ToS pages are main targets.
2. Point out the questions which are not covered on the website and never hesitate to ask them long before you proceed with any billing.
3. If you register both domain and hosting make sure that you will be provided with your personal domain management panel.
4. If you are going to park your own domain let the hosting company provide you with confirmation that this domain does not violate their policy and rules.
5. Watch out hidden fees and set up fees! Especially when you order dedicated server.
6. Make sure there is more than one convenient and rapid way to get in touch with hosting support. IM, Skype or phone number are always preferrable.
Sounds too simple but trust me it’s much better to go though this simple list rather than potentially put yourself into crap. Stay safe and happy!
